Valentine's day!

Today, the love wasn't going around as much as I thought it would. Poor Alicia was sick at home, while Natalie, Kiana and I (Chloe) were in D and T without any work. The parts of our unfinished
D and T mouse trap were in Alicia's locker and our transmission test answers were in Mme.Taillefer's locked classroom.

So, today, with the help of Mr.Smith and Natalie, Kiana and I continued working on the transmission test (Q# 7-10)

Natalie cut some pieces of chloroplast for our project. Natalie also brought CD's as wheels for the project. Unfortunately, we weren't able to attach them to project.

We will be posting some more of our vocabulary definitions soon. You can find it in the Vocabulary section.

Feb 08 2011

Okay today we had many problems and redos.

We had finally finished realigning our holes for where the axles are going to pass through. Right after, Natalie and I (Alicia) realized that there was too much friction in between the whole and axle so we went to talk to Mr Smith about it. He then told us to instead align and glue a piece of chloroplast on top of it. So we did and it didn't make much of a difference. So again we went to talk to him and that's when he told us to take it off cause the PREVIOUS was better.

Finally it was decided that we should just glue bolts on top cause that way the axle can spin freely with almost no friction. So we have to do that next week.

>>>Chloe and Kiana continued studying to get their liscence so that we can make our transmission.
>>>After that all we have left is to get our wheels and attach our final piece together so that we make our final adjustments and test it out!!!

Feb 02 2011

Today in D & T class, Natalie and Alicia finished working on the chassis.
We got our mousetrap, and Alicia has already completely disabled it, while Kiana and I (Chloe) started the test for our license for the transmission.

I posted some of the questions that we came up with in the Q & A section of the blog.

Jan 30 2011

Today, Alicia and Natalie restarted the chassis while Kiana and I did more research.

I (Chloe) accidentally glued on of the chassis supports in the wrong spot. Therefore the chassis had to be restarted. Kiana did more research about the vocabulary on the computer and from the "docfissix" book.

Today we got our orthographic drawing approved. Kiana and I (Chloe) worked on the Vocabulary, and Natalie and I started cutting the wood, and chloroplast.

I finished our logo design for Rat-a-touille.

Alicia wasn't at school today

Alright. So yesterday in class, we continued our orthographic drawing. Alicia and I (Natalie) continued to brainstorm for this mousetrap car while Chloe was assigned to do research and answer any questions that we might have while working. Kiana is in charge of vocabulary.

We are almost done the orthographic drawing, we just need to put the dimensions of the wheels in.

Today we learned a little bit more. For our main chassis, instead of jinx wood we are going to use chloroplast (the material used for election signs).

Natalie and I (Alicia) worked on designing our car. Natalie is drawing out the orthographic drawings of the front and top view, while Alicia is assisting and commenting.
